Daniel and Joseph’s mother died of cancer in 2003. Joseph wanted to keep his mother’s memory alive by visiting the zoo and the Academy of Natural Sciences in the spring time. His mother would take the boys a couple of times a year. Daniel wanted to remember his mother by baking cookies during the Holidays, on Valentine’s Day, and on his birthday. He showed volunteers his mother’s box full of cookie cutters for every occasion.
Each year, Family Lives On sends the boys everything they need to make their traditions happen– from the cookie dough to the admission passes for the museum & zoo. We are happy to help these boys continue to do the activities that their mom loved to do with them.
